Prayer times for the United Kingdom

Prayer beginning times across the UK are determined by the position of the sun, which shifts with the seasons and with how far north a city lies. This means Fajr and Maghrib in Aberdeen or Glasgow can differ noticeably from London or Luton on the same day.

Select your city above to view its accurate daily times, a full monthly timetable and the Qibla direction. You can adjust the calculation method and Asr madhab on each city page to match your local mosque.

Jamaat (congregation) times may differ between mosques — please always confirm with your local masjid.

Frequently asked questions

Times are calculated from each city's exact coordinates using established, verified methods, and adjusted for the UK time zone including British Summer Time. Fajr and Isha are based on the angle of twilight, Dhuhr on the sun's zenith, Asr on shadow length and Maghrib at sunset.
In the British summer the sun never dips far below the horizon, so true dawn (Fajr) arrives very early and the twilight for Isha lingers late into the night. When the twilight does not fully disappear, a recognised high-latitude method is used to estimate the times, which is why the gap between Fajr and Isha is short in June and July.
UK mosques vary — many follow the London Unified Prayer Timetable, the East London Mosque / Islamic Relief convention, or Umm al-Qura (Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib). You can set the method and Asr madhab on each city page to match your local masjid.
Yes. Cities further north such as Aberdeen, Glasgow and Newcastle have noticeably earlier Fajr and later Maghrib in summer than southern cities like London or Luton on the same day, because of the higher latitude. Always use your own city's page.
Jummah replaces the Dhuhr prayer every Friday and is prayed in congregation shortly after midday. The exact Jamaat time varies between mosques, so check with your local masjid for its Friday khutbah and prayer time.
Every city's times update automatically each day and include a full monthly timetable and Qibla direction. Beginning times are calculated precisely; Jamaat (congregation) times are set locally, so please confirm those with your local mosque.
