Agreement

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) set out the general terms governing your use of the www.ghh.org.uk website and GHH mobile app (“Website”) and all related services provided by Global Helping Hands (collectively, “Services”).

This Agreement is legally binding between you (“User”, “you”, “your”) and Global Helping Hands (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing and using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.

If you do not agree with these terms, you must not access or use the Services.

About Us

Global Helping Hands is a registered charity in England and Wales. Charity Registration Number: 1190360. Our registered address is The Future Works, 2 Brunel Way, Slough, SL1 1FQ.

Our mission is to provide hope and change lives across the globe. We support humanitarian projects including food, water, medical aid, and orphan care across multiple countries.

Accounts

You can make a donation to our charity without creating an account. There is no minimum age requirement to make a donation, however if you are under 18 we recommend that a parent or guardian is aware of and approves the donation.

To create an account, enter into this Agreement, or use any Services of a contractual nature, you must be at least 18 years of age. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

If you create an account on our website, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under it. Please notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

We may change these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website and will apply from the date of posting, except where a donation has already been accepted under the previous terms. Please review these terms on each visit. Continued use of our website constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Donor Dashboard

The GHH Donor Dashboard allows you to manage your donations, view your donation history, access receipts, and manage your subscription donations. You can access the dashboard in three ways:

• Signing in to your registered donor account
• Accessing the dashboard directly after completing a donation in the same browser session
• Using our email access option to verify your email address

Once authenticated, all dashboard features are available at the Donor Dashboard page.

GHH Mobile App

Global Helping Hands offers an official mobile application available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store). The app provides full access to our donation platform, donor dashboard, campaign appeals, and account management — mirroring the functionality of our website.

By downloading and using the GHH app, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full. The app is subject to the additional terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store as applicable. We are solely responsible for the app and its content — Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or any claims relating to it.

The app requires an internet connection for full functionality. We are not responsible for any charges incurred through your mobile data provider when using the app. Push notifications may be sent if you have enabled them — you can manage notification preferences through your device settings at any time.

Intellectual Property Rights

All content on this website and in communications from Global Helping Hands — including text, graphics, logos, icons, and images — is the exclusive property of Global Helping Hands or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

This Agreement does not transfer any intellectual property rights to you. All trademarks, service marks, graphics, and logos used in connection with this website and app remain the property of Global Helping Hands or their respective owners. Your use of our Services grants you no right to reproduce or use any of these marks.

Use of the Website

You may use or download material from this website for non-commercial, personal use only, provided that you retain all copyright and proprietary notices.

You may not, without our prior written consent:

• Collect, copy, or distribute any portion of the website
• Resell, publicly perform, or publicly display any portion of the website
• Modify or create derivative works from any part of the website
• Use automated tools (robots, spiders, scrapers) to access, copy, or monitor the website
• Use the website in a way that depletes or damages our infrastructure

Global Helping Hands reserves the right to refuse service and terminate accounts where your conduct violates these terms.

Our website and app may contain links to third-party websites or applications. We have no influence or control over these third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.

Your access to and use of any third-party service is governed solely by that service’s own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party services. You should review the applicable terms and privacy policies of any third-party website you visit.

Donations

All donations made through our website and app are securely processed. Data is transmitted over an SSL-encrypted connection and our platform complies with PCI DSS vulnerability standards. We conduct regular malware scans to maintain a secure environment.

You can donate via credit or debit card (processed by Stripe), PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Donations can be made in British Pounds Sterling (£), US Dollars ($), or Euros (€). Your selected currency will be shown at checkout. International donors may be subject to currency conversion fees or additional charges applied by their card provider or bank — these are the responsibility of the donor.

Your donation constitutes an offer to support the appeal specified by you. It is not binding on us until your payment has been accepted and confirmed.

Use of Fundraising Funds

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you confirm that all funds raised through our platform are used solely for the specific projects you have selected. These projects are exclusively run and managed by Global Helping Hands.

Under no circumstances will funds be transferred to personal accounts or used for purposes outside of the chosen project. We are committed to full transparency and accountability in how all donations are used.

Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day refund policy from the date of your donation. If you are dissatisfied with a donation you have made, please contact us within this period to request a refund.

Refund requests submitted after 14 days will be considered on a case-by-case basis and approval is not guaranteed.

Refunds are issued for the original donation amount using the same payment method as the original transaction.

Disclaimer of Warranty

Our website, app, and Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Your use of the Services is solely at your own risk. We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We make no warranty that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. No advice or information obtained from us through the Services shall create any warranty not expressly stated in this Agreement.

Global Helping Hands accepts no liability for any disruption or unavailability of the website or app resulting from external causes including ISP or host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events, acts of war, or legal restrictions.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Global Helping Hands, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of our Services, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you to Global Helping Hands in connection with the matter giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Global Helping Hands and its officers, directors, affiliates, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (i) your use of the website, app, or Services; (ii) your conduct; (iii) any breach of these Terms; or (iv) any content you submit, post, or transmit through our Services.

Accuracy of Information

We make every effort to ensure that information on our website and app is accurate and up to date. However, we reserve the right to correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to update information at any time without prior notice. This includes information relating to donation appeals, campaigns, and project descriptions.

Electronic Communications

By using our Services, you accept that we may communicate with you primarily by electronic means — including email, push notifications, and notices posted on our website or app. You agree that all contracts, notices, and communications provided electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Global Helping Hands does not send letters or any communications by post. All official communications from us are sent electronically only — by email, SMS, or via our website or app. We will never write to you by post to request donations, personal information, or payment details.

SMS Messaging Terms

By opting into our SMS messaging service, you consent to receive recurring automated marketing and informational text messages from Global Helping Hands. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of making a donation or using our Services.

Opt-In: By subscribing to our SMS programme, you confirm you have given express written consent to receive text messages from Global Helping Hands. You may opt in via our website, app, or sign-up form.

Opt-Out: You may cancel SMS marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by visiting www.sto.pm/ghh. After opting out you will receive a single confirmation message. No further marketing messages will be sent. To re-subscribe, you must opt in again. The following keywords are also supported: UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, CANCEL, and END.

Please note: We also use SMS to send one-time passcodes (OTP) for account login verification and donation confirmation updates. These are operational and security messages sent on the basis of our contract with you. Opting out of SMS marketing will not stop these messages, as they are required for account access and security.

Qurbani completion notifications: All Qurbani donors will receive an SMS when their Qurbani sacrifice has been completed. This is a service completion notification sent to every Qurbani donor regardless of SMS marketing preferences. For those who observe the Sunnah of refraining from cutting hair and nails prior to the sacrifice, this message confirms that the sacrifice has taken place. This notification is not a marketing message and cannot be opted out of, as it forms part of the Qurbani service.

Help: For assistance, reply HELP to any message. You will receive a response with support contact information. You may also contact us at media@ghh.org.uk.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your interaction with us and active campaigns. We will not send messages between 9pm and 8am local time.

Cost: Message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless provider’s plan. Global Helping Hands does not charge for SMS messages.

Data: We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. For full details on how your data is handled, please see our Privacy Policy.

Email unsubscribe: Marketing emails from Global Helping Hands are sent via Mailchimp. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link in the footer of any email we send you. This is managed through Mailchimp’s unsubscribe system and takes effect immediately.

Prohibited Uses

You are prohibited from using our website, app, or Services for any of the following:

• Any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• To infringe upon the intellectual property rights of Global Helping Hands or any third party
• To harass, abuse, defame, or discriminate against any person
• To submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• To upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
• To spam, phish, scrape, or engage in any other abusive automated activity
• To interfere with or circumvent the security features of our Services

We reserve the right to terminate your access to our Services for any violation of these prohibited uses.

Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed from this Agreement. All remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
