About Us
Global Helping Hands (GHH) is a UK-based charity dedicated to providing essential aid to vulnerable communities worldwide. Operating with a 100% donation policy, GHH ensures that every penny contributed goes directly to those in need. We focus on various humanitarian efforts including education, healthcare, clean water, and food security. Through sustainable projects and community empowerment, GHH aims to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change. Our transparent approach ensures that donations are effectively utilised, offering support to orphans, refugees, and impoverished families across multiple countries.
How It Began
Global Helping Hands was founded by a group of brothers in Maidenhead, Berkshire, with the core aim of seeking Allah’s pleasure and hoping our deeds are accepted on the Day we’ll need them most.
Our journey began in 2019 in Greece’s Moria Camp, watching helplessly as children aged six contemplated suicide due to dire living conditions. We volunteered in the medical camp on the Island, using our skills to provide healthcare to desperate refugees.
This experience inspired us to establish Global Helping Hands. We are a dedicated team of volunteers passionate about making a difference. Unlike many charities, we ensure 100% of your donations reach those in need.
Join us on this journey to make a lasting impact, for the sake of Allah.

Gift Aid and Tax Efficient Giving
If you have any questions about Gift Aid, please contact the GHH Team on 0333 090 2223 or email [email protected]
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on your donations through income tax or capital gains tax.
All donations (excluding those made through the Charities Aid Foundation and payroll giving), made in the last four years are eligible for the scheme – including regular gifts such as standing orders and direct debits.
To qualify for Gift Aid, you need to be a UK taxpayer and have paid enough tax to cover the amount of tax reclaimed by all charities on all your donations for each tax year (6th April one year to 5th April the next). Apart from tax on income from a job or self-employment, other types that are acceptable are:
- Tax deducted at source from savings interest.
- Tax on state pension and/or other pensions.
- Tax on investment or rental income (including tax credits on UK dividends)
- Capital Gains Tax on gains.
Donations from non-UK taxpayers are not eligible for Gift Aid.
HMRC regulations also mean that we can’t reclaim Gift Aid on a donation if the donor told us that:
- The donation was on behalf of someone else or a group of people.
- The donation was on behalf of a company.
- The donation was to a family member or friend doing an event where the
- charity is contributing to their costs.
- The donation was made in return for goods, rights or services.
A charity can claim Gift Aid when you make a monetary donation from your own funds and have paid UK Income and / or Capital Gains Tax during that tax year.
The amount of tax you pay needs to be at least equal to the value of Gift Aid the charity or GHH will claim on your donation(s).
If circumstances change and you no longer pay enough tax, it’s important to tell all the charities you support. If you don’t tell them and they continue claiming Gift Aid, you’ll need to pay any difference back to HMRC.
Before you can claim Gift Aid, the donor must make a Gift Aid declaration giving you permission to claim back the 25%. The declaration confirms that the donor has paid at least the amount that you intend to claim in Income or Capital Gains Tax that year, and also that they agree for you to claim Gift Aid.
