Prayer Times in Bucharest

From Bucharest the Qibla is approximately 149°, facing south-east towards the Kaaba in Makkah, about 2,852 km away.

Today's prayer times in Bucharest are Fajr at dawn, Dhuhr after midday, Asr in the afternoon, Maghrib at sunset and Isha at night — all shown in the timetable above and updated automatically every day. Sunrise (Shuruq) is included so you know when the Fajr window ends.

Prayer times are calculated from the position of the sun over Bucharest's exact coordinates. Fajr and Isha are based on the angle of twilight before sunrise and after sunset, Dhuhr begins just after the sun passes its highest point, Asr from the length of shadows, and Maghrib at sunset. The times use established, verified calculation methods.

In the UK summer the sun never dips far below the horizon, so true dawn (Fajr) arrives very early and the twilight for Isha lingers late into the night. When the twilight does not fully disappear, a recognised high-latitude method is used to estimate the times — which is why the gap between Fajr and Isha is so short in June and July.

The timetable shows the standard (majority) Asr time, which begins when an object's shadow equals its own length plus its shadow at midday. The Hanafi school holds that Asr begins later, when the shadow reaches twice the object's length. If you follow the Hanafi opinion, please refer to your local mosque's timetable for its Asr and Jamaat times.

Beginning times are the calculated start of each prayer's window, based on the sun. Jamaat (congregation) times are set separately by each mosque and are usually a little later so the community can gather. Always confirm the Jamaat times with your local masjid in Bucharest.
