Ousainatou is growing up in a family that has experienced the loss of a parent and now faces ongoing financial challenges. Ousainatou’s guardian, Fatou, is a sugar seller. This is her only source of income, and the little she earns is what she uses to feed her children. Now, Ousainatou’s siblings have also become part of her responsibility, which constantly puts pressure on her. Since what she earns is not enough to pay for rent and also feed her children, this keeps causing her worry because she wants to give Ousainatou and her sister the best upbringing, but their daily struggles will not allow her to. The children’s mother remarried and left them with the guardian. Since then, they have not heard from her. Sponsorship can help provide stability and contribute towards the child’s education, wellbeing and everyday needs, while supporting the family in a respectful and dignified way.
