We learned from refugees that many charities come in and provide for them for a few months, but then their basic needs are not met for the rest of the year. Global Helping Hands decided to change that by providing consistent weekly support throughout the year. Eleven Long Years of Pain!
6.8 million Syrians have fled their country, while another 6.7 million have been forced from their homes. More than half of Syria’s population has been displaced, totaling 13.5 million people. More than 11.1 million Syrians are in need of humanitarian aid. And children make up about half of those displaced by the Syrian refugee crisis.
The Syrian refugee crisis, now in its 11th year, continues to be the world’s largest refugee and displacement crisis. Families in Syria have been torn apart by a conflict that has killed hundreds of thousands of people, shattered the country, and slowed economic growth for decades.
