Transforming Lives
In many parts of the world, families live in dire conditions, struggling without proper shelter, clean water, or basic necessities. At Global Helping Hands, we believe that every family deserves a safe and dignified home. Through the Home of Hope project, we are building secure homes for those in need, offering them a foundation for a better future.
A Safe Haven for Vulnerable Families
The Home of Hope initiative focuses on constructing durable, well-designed homes that cater to the needs of displaced and vulnerable families. These homes are built using quality materials to ensure longevity and sustainability. Each home is designed to provide a secure living environment, shielding families from harsh weather conditions and improving their overall well-being.
Beyond providing shelter, this initiative fosters a sense of community and belonging. Many of the families benefiting from Home of Hope have faced displacement due to conflict, natural disasters, or extreme poverty. Having a place to call home restores dignity, stability, and hope, enabling them to focus on rebuilding their lives with confidence.
A Sanctuary for Vulnerable Children
In the border town of Arsal, Lebanon, nestled in the hills above the Bekaa Valley, approximately 60,000 Syrian refugees reside among a local Lebanese population of 35,000. Within this community, a survey identified around 230 children, aged between 5 and 12, who are living without parental care, often under the supervision of relatives or unrelated guardians. These children face significant challenges, including lack of schooling, inadequate supervision, and child labour. Some have also been victims of more severe forms of abuse.
Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations to identify the specific needs of each child, determining who requires immediate rehabilitation and support.
Social Development: Promote interpersonal relationships through structured activities such as play, sports, and literacy programs. These initiatives are designed to build self-esteem and teach essential social and life skills, helping children become responsible community members.
Problem Mitigation: Address prevalent social issues, including child exploitation, drug abuse, and violence, through targeted interventions and education.
Community Engagement: Share experiences and promote collaboration with other organisations to tackle the broader challenges facing the refugee community.
