Build a school and masjid in Pakistan, under one roof. £16,300 funds the whole build, with a prayer hall for 75 worshippers, an open prayer area for 75 more and two classrooms for 30 students. £8,150 funds half of it, and £2,500 supports the build.

The school and masjid you can see in the film was built on land given as waqf in Goth Nandhi Thari, Thari Mirwah, District Khairpur, Sindh. Watch it rise from an empty plot to opening day, when the village came together to pray in it.

Questions

How do the school and masjid work together?

They share one building: a prayer hall for the community and classrooms where local children learn. A boundary wall keeps the school part separate, for the children's safety.

How big is the building?
  1. Covered area: 1,410 sq ft
  2. Worshippers: 150 (prayer hall 75, open prayer area 75)
  3. School: 2 classrooms of 15 ft × 12 ft, for 30 students
How long does it take to build?

About 6 to 8 months, depending on local conditions. Work starts once the funds have been received.

Where does the water come from?

The school and masjid uses the local water connection or an existing borehole. Where there is neither, a borehole has to be funded separately or another site chosen.

What will I receive?

A permanent name plaque on the building, a banner, and photos and video of the build and the handover. The building has a one-year warranty against defects in construction and electrics.
