Maimuna Saidy
STORYMaimuna's story
Maimuna is growing up in a family that has experienced the loss of a parent and now faces ongoing financial challenges. Maimuna and her mother, Hawa, live in a financially fragile situation. Hawa is the sole breadwinner, running a small, informal ice-selling business that generates a meager, daily income. They live in a rental house, and this fixed monthly rent is their biggest financial pressure. Because the ice business has thin profit margins, they likely live “hand-to-mouth,” with no savings or safety net. This makes them highly vulnerable to any unexpected expense or disruption, such as Hawa falling ill or a slow business day. Sponsorship can help provide stability and contribute towards the child’s education, wellbeing and everyday needs, while supporting the family in a respectful and dignified way.
