Ansumana is growing up in a family that has experienced the loss of a parent and now faces ongoing financial challenges. Ansumana lives with his mother and siblings in a rental house. His mother works tirelessly as a domestic helper in nearby houses, washing clothes and scrubbing floors for little payment. Yet no matter how hard she works, the money never seems to stretch far enough to meet their needs. Each morning, Ansumana would wake up to find his mother sitting quietly by the window, counting the little money she had left, trying to figure out how to make it last through the week. Most days, they have only one meal, and sometimes even that is uncertain. Ansumana watches his mother skip meals just so he can have something to eat before heading to school. But going to school itself is becoming a luxury they can barely afford u2014 his fees are overdue, and his mother has had to beg the teacher for more time. The landlord knocks on their door almost every week demanding rent, and each time Ansumana’s mother pleads for a little more patience. Despite the hardship, Ansumana holds on to his eam of becoming a teacher so he can take care of his mother and give her a comfortable life. The bond between mother and son grows stronger through their struggles, and they cling to each other, praying that one day things will improve. Sponsorship can help provide stability and contribute towards the child’s education, wellbeing and everyday needs, while supporting the family in a respectful and dignified way.
